More than a dozen occupiers have been charged in the wake of last fortnight’s protests.
Eight camp residents appeared in Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, charged with failure to comply with an order to resume a public procession.
The charges stem from the direct action working group’s attempt to claim a new campsite in Trafalgar Square during the march against education cuts earlier this month. All defendants pleaded not guilty.
The defendants include Occupied Times reporter Mircea Barbu.
Meanwhile another three campers were charged with unlawful assembly for their part in a separate Occupation march on Parliament. All three pleaded not guilty.
All defendants have been released on unconditional bail. Both cases will be heard next year with district Judge Michael Snow expected to preside.
