Supporters of Occupy London gathered in a packed courtroom at the High Court this morning as the case brought by the City of London Corporation began.
Occupy London’s barrister John Cooper QC argued Occupy London needed time to prepare a full defence to the allegations put forward by the City of London Corporation.
Judge Alan Wilkie directed a timetable representing a compromise between the requests of either side.
Ronan McNern, a supporter of Occupy London said, “This is a positive result for Occupy London. Today the Corporation was trying to push for an unreasonable timeframe for court proceedings.”
The full hearing will take place in the High Court on the afternoon of Monday 19th December. The hearing is expected to take three or four days, with judgement possibly deferred for a few days after that.
